The Tapflo diaphragm pump is driven by compressed air. The two diaphragms, connected by a diaphragm shaft, are pushed back and forth by alternately pressurising the air chambers behind the diaphragms using an automatically cycling air valve system.
During each cycle the air pressure on the back of the discharging diaphragm is equal to the head pressure on the liquid side. Tapflo diaphragm pumps can therefore be operated against a closed discharge valve with no adverse affect to the life of the diaphragms.

A hose pump is a type of positive displacement pump that operates by compressing a flexible hose or tube with a rotating rotor to move fluid through the pump.
A hose pump works on the principle of peristaltic action, where the rotating rotor squeezes the hose or tube, creating a vacuum and drawing fluid into the pump. As the rotor continues to turn, the fluid is pushed through the hose and discharged.
The main components of a hose pump include the rotor, hose or tube, housing, and a drive mechanism.
Hose pumps are ideal for handling abrasive, viscous, and shear-sensitive fluids, as well as fluids containing solids, thanks to their gentle pumping action and non-contacting parts. In the hose pump, only 2 parts have contact with the liquid – the hose and the inserts.
Yes, hose pumps are the one of the best pumps on the market in terms of self-priming since the vacuum created by the peristaltic action allows them to draw fluid into the pump from up to 9 meters.
Yes, hose pumps are well-suited for handling corrosive fluids since the fluid only comes into contact with the hose or tube, and the pump's mechanical parts remain isolated.
Hose pumps find applications in various industries, including chemical processing, mining, wastewater treatment, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and more.
Choosing the appropriate hose material depends on the chemical compatibility with the fluid being pumped. Consult the hose pump manufacturer or supplier for guidance on the best material for your specific application.
Hose pumps require periodic inspection and maintenance, including checking for hose wear, ensuring proper tension of the hose, and lubricating the shoes and bearings as needed.
Yes, hose pumps are available in various models with different pressure ratings, allowing them to handle a wide range of pressures based on the specific requirements of the application.

The Tapflo sanitary series is particularly designed to meet the requirements of the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Lubrication free air distribution system, maintenance free ball check valve system and total visual inspection of the wetted parts are some of the major features for this pump series.
Made to be clean
Our design allows for total visual inspection of the wetted parts. There are no hidden areas where bacteria can grow. The manifold clamps and the housing screws are simply removed for complete disassembly and cleaning. The pump is also designed for cleaning and sterilization in place – C.I.P. and S.I.P. After such operations, the pump is easily turned in its support for drainage.
ATEX certified pumps
All sanitary pumps are available in explosion proof ATEX marked version. They are supplied with earth connection and conductive materials; conductive centre section and diaphragms in PTFE (conductive back) or EPDM (conductive).

The compact, smooth and simple design is common for this series. Materials available are aluminium, cast iron, stainless steel and PTFE coated aluminium.
You will discover the ingenious simplicity when you maintain the pump. We use approximately 70% fewer parts than our competitors use to build similar sized pumps.
Aluminium and cast iron pumps
For transfer of pH-neutral fluids, both thin, thick, solid-laden or abrasive. The aluminium and cast iron pumps are found in most fields; workshop and paint industries, purifying plants, to mention only a few.
AISI 316 stainless steel pumps
Made in lost wax cast method, ensuring great accuracy and finish. The stainless steel pumps combine great mechanical strength with good chemical resistance. AISI 316 is resistant to aggressive liquids like nitric acid and sodium hydroxide. The centre unit, which is not in contact with liquid, is made from polypropylene (PP) as standard (other materials upon request).
ATEX certified pumps
All metal pumps are available in explosion proof ATEXmarked version. They are supplied with earth connection and conductive materials; conductive centre section (on AISI 316 pump), diaphragms in PTFE (conductive back) or EPDM (conductive).
