Product launch: TC Intelligent pumps

Tapflo is proud to announce that a series of TC Intelligent diaphragm pumps has been implemented into company’s pump range portfolio.

TC Intelligent pumps are fitted with ingenious LEAP® technology developed by Tapflo. LEAP® or ‘Low Energy Air Pump’ is a patented technology used in AODD pumps to reduce the minimum operating air pressure by reducing internal losses and friction found in conventional AODD pumps. LEAP is a unique system detecting diaphragm’s shaft position allowing the pump to be controlled by automation system.

Tapflo Academy | Beginner training

We are proudly hosting another group of participants of Tapflo Academy! Our colleagues and partners from Singapore, United Kingdom, Ukraine and Poland joined Tapflo Academy Beginner course and got essential information about pump technology, wide selection of Tapflo pumps, important applications and accessories. Students take part in hands-on training, have a factory tour and spend spare time socializing in Gdańsk Old Town.

Tapflo Group Distribution Meeting 2017

During last week we had the pleasure to host a group of Tapflo distributors from around the world. Our very special guests from Canada, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Mexico and Morroco joined the Tapflo academy to improve the knowledge of pumping technology from Tapflo as well as learn about Tapflo global targets and development plans. They also shared their own experience during very insightful country presentations.

During the course participants learnt about the impressive growth of the Tapflo company, marketing communication news, updates in Tapflo products, Engineering to order opportunities and more. Our colleagues also had the Factory tour, Stock tour and Hands-on training.

All successful candidates received their certificates. The atmosphere was very inspiring both during the training and informal socialization in the evening.

Tapflo Russia presented Tapflo products at the XXVI International Forum "BEER-2017" in the exhibition center Grand Hotel "Pearl" in Sochi, Russian Federation – 16-18 May 2017.

The exhibition was dedicated to equipment for brewing and processing raw materials, methods of transporting raw materials and beer, mini-breweries.

International Forum "BEER" in Sochi is the largest specialized exhibition event in the beer industry in Russia, the main meeting place for the largest representatives of the brewing industry of Russia and foreign enterprises.

New Series of Intelligent diaphragm pump

from Tapflo

TC Intelligent pumps are fitted with ingenious LEAP® technology developed by Tapflo. LEAP® or ‘Low Energy Air Pump’ is a patented technology used in AODD pumps to reduce the minimum operating air pressure by reducing internal losses and friction found in conventional AODD pumps.

- LEAP uses a unique indirect system to detect the position of the diaphragm shaft controlling the diaphragm movement automatically- explains Colin Wreyford, Technical Director at Tapflo.

Key Benefits of the TC Intelligent pumps

Ultra low-pressure operation – reduced energy consumption.
Impossible to stall – revolutionary control technology completely prevents stalling.
Available in Plastic, Metal and Sanitary series AODD pumps – TC50 - TC425 (T50 - T425 equivalent).
Retrofit – Leap can be fitted to any existing Tapflo Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps
Improved Lifespan – LEAP™ uses a seal-less air valve technology with significantly longer life expectancy over conventionally sealed vales.
Noise Reduction – lower air pressure = less noise of the pump.
Simplified Maintenance – main air valve can be changed in less than two minutes without the removal of the pump from the process line.
Simplified Control – integral solenoid valve control negates the need for an external pneumatic solenoid valve, reducing costs and simplifying control.
Electrical feedback – integral VFC output signal allows for external monitoring of pump strokes.
Batch Dispensing – using the integral VFC output and an external predetermining counter the pump can be automatically stopped after the required volume has been dispensed.
Dry Running – monitoring the frequency of the output pulses from the pump can determine if the pump is running dry due to increased stroke rate.
Dead Heading – as with dry running, the frequency of pulses can be monitored, alerting if the pump has a blockage.

Energy Savings
The extensive testing procedure has shown that the largest amount of energy required by a pump is used to overcome the resistance created by the pump itself. – says Colin Wreyford.
Another major issue is found in the mid-port scenario, wherein the attempt to save energy by turning down the air pressure to a much lower level causes the stall of the pump.
The TC Intelligent pump is able to start pumping at 0.3 bar without stalling. In test the TC pump was already achieving flow rates of 70% of its maximum open end flow before other pumps had even started . At 0.3 (4.5 Psi) bar a standard Tapflo T50 pump fitted with LEAP® technology was already pumping at over 25 L/min, while all other air pumps tested failed to even start. To achieve the same flows and control other pumps required 1.2 bar pressure.
Tests undertaken to measure the performance of a standard pump against the new TC pump have resulted in an energy saving of up to 70%.

Case study
Tapflo’s customer’s application required the pump to run for the complete working day 5 days a week, when we consider this along with 48 weeks a year the savings can be significant:
Estimated costs for customer requiring a 2” pump and a fluid flow of 150 L/min at 1 bar discharge running 5 days a week:
- a standard pump - an average of € 2,133 each year
- a Tapflo TC intelligent pump - an average of € 1,378 each year

Savings € 755 each year.

Specification TC Intelligent pump:
Tapflo TC series pumps are based on standard Tapflo air operated diaphragm pumps but fitted with an power pack called LEAP® Technology. The LEAP® technology was developed for a ultra low flow high pressure applications.

LEAP® or ‘Low Energy Air Pump’ is a patented technology used in AODD pumps to reduce the minimum operating air pressure by reducing internal losses and friction found in conventional AODD pumps.
LEAP uses a unique indirect system to detect the position of the diaphragm shaft controlling the diaphragm movement automatically.

Extensive testing procedure showed that a large amount of energy required in a pump was to overcome the resistance in the pump. Another major issue was the mid-port scenario when Air pumps were turned down to much lower air pressure in an attempt to save energy, the pumps simply stalled.

The TC Intelligent pump is able to start pumping at 0.3 bar with no stalling, in test the pump was already achieving flow rates of 70% of its maximum open end flow before other pumps had even started.

Tapflo Group Management Meeting 2017

21-24 November

This year we had a great pleasure to host Tapflo Group Management Meeting 2017 in Poland. We hosted the country managers representing Tapflo operations from more than 14 countries to sum up the progress of our group in 2017 and discuss strategies and objectives for 2018.

The meetings were full of fruitful and inspiring discussions. As usual we did not forget about informal integration which is an important element "The Tapflo Way " philosophy.

During the Gala dinner the Board awarded Tapflo Bulgaria and Tapflo Serbia with a Performance Excellence tiltes. Congratulations!

Tapflo Poland supported local firefighters team

OSP Jelen

Tapflo Poland supported local firefighters team OSP Jeleń in removing the horrible effects of the recent storm that ravaged northern Poland. The chainsaw founded by Tapflo helped the firefighters to deal with the broken trees that damaged the houses and roads.

In fact "mobile " refers to our everyday life more & more these days - mobile homes, mobile work, mobile ...
Why is that so? ... because mobile means flexibility !

Tapflo being a leader in our industry has understood and applied that trend long time ago.

Today thanks to our Engineering To Order approach we can add "mobility ", to nearly every single pump we manufacture today.

Mobile Pump Units are most commonly used by industrial customers with spread liquid storage and a low intensity of unloading. The portability of the Units allows easy movement to various locations. This means almost limitless number of duties served by one pump unit. Now if user needs to unload several containers in different locations the mobile pump becomes most flexible solution. Additionally the pump equipped with counter-connections and hoses, which can also be part of the unit, make unloading liquid from several different tanks in different locations also very safe and cost efficient.

Mobile units from Tapflo include both - Air operated diaphragm pumps as well as centrifugal pumps and can be combined with other accessories that make the solution useful for particular application.

The idea of Mobile pumping solutions is best illustrated by examples of units used in the industry and serving real customers to support their processes.

Tapflo CTH

mounted on troll S268X

for distiller industry

Tapflo CTH (Centrifugal hygienic pump) mounted on troll S268X (industrial trolley) for a final customer for the distillery industry. This custom designed mobile system has FDA and ATEX certificates.

The customer manufactures high grade beverage alcohols.

The customer needed a solution which can be used for the slow flow of small amounts of alcohol macerate and gentle circulation of alcohol macerate (based on fruits) of different taste and colors.

Tapflo ETO (Engineering To Order) team designed and offered a solution with CTH pump mounted on a trolley and equipped with a built-on ON/OFF switch able to work in ATEX zone.

It is important to note that our ETO team has a huge experience in designing mobile, ATEX solutions and prices are very competitive!
